Democratic leader in Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi will receive Freedom of Dublin City Award on Monday. Notably, this honour was announced 12 years back and Suu Kyi will receive it today. She will arrive at Republic of Ireland from Norway. Suu Kyi was in Norway on Sunday. She urged the refugees there to build harmony for ceasfire.
It may be recalled that Aung San Suu Kyi was arrested in 1989 by the rules of Burma and was kept under house arrest for almost 21 years. She was released in 2010 after the first elections in the country. Aung San Suu Kyi has also received Nobel peace prize award.
