Militants Attacks Army Camp In Jammu’s Nagrota; 1 Soldier Dead, 2 Injured

According to the officials, militants attacked an army camp in Nagrota of Jammu And Kashmir at the very early morning on Tuesday. The attack occurred around 4 am when militants started firing at the field regiment camp stationed in the garrison town of Nagrota near the Arrmy’s 16 Corps headquarters.

Still, the heavy exchange of fire is going on between the security forces and the militants. Reports said that around 2-3 militants are holed up in the area.

According to the media reports, one soldier has been killed in the exchange of fire and another two have been injured including a junior commissioned officer. Media reports also disclosed that the militants entered the area in the Army uniform.

Police said, “A group of heavily armed militants, believed to be four-to-five in number, attacked the 166 field army regiment camp in Nagrota area of Jammu today morning.”

A news agency has also reported that the security forces have cordoned off the entire area and has also ordered to shut all the schools down in the nearby areas.
