Man stole friends debit card and swipes Rs 8.6 lakh

58-year-old woman (Laxmi Raherkar) from Kolhapur was cheated by a close friend and he filed a complaint against him for robbing is debit card and bank details and withdrawing cash to the tune of Rs 8.63 lakh.

Laxmi stated that she was a guardian to him and even sponsored money for his education and helped him to set up his business. On Monday, she has filled a company at Yerawada police against Balaji Waghmare (40) and he is on the run.

Laxmi used to work as a rector at a Kolhapur-based medical college and she had some 60 days of leave pending. So, she decided to and came to Pune to attend meditation classes and she met Balaji Waghmare whom she was familiar since child and he was known since a three decades and she treated him has her own son but he has backstabbed her.

As per Laxmi, she came to Pune on August 5 and she was staying with Waghmare family and later she rented an apartment near to his house and started taking meditation lessons near and was taking some treatment at a naturopathy centre in Deccan.

Once she noticed her debit card with various cash withdrawal slips along with her account details in his cash counter drawer as she used to help in his business work she was free. She immediately went to the bank to find out the complete details and she was shocked to see that Waghmare had been withdrawing Rs 30,000-40,000 from my account every day since August. All the money were drawn in Hyderabad and she immediately asked him and he requested and promised her that he would give her money back.

Once he gave her a cheque of Rs 2 lakh but it bounced. She immediately approached the police but they did not file any case since October when she threatened that she will approach senior authorities, they registered the case.
