The Accidental Prime Minister- Movie On Manmohan Singh

According to the reports, a movie is being developed on the life of former prime minister Manmohan Singh based on the book by Sanjay Baru, The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making And Unmaking of Manmohan Singh. The film is scheduled to release at the ending phase of 2017.

The film makers likely to release the teaser of the movie on August 30. According to people connected with the movie said that the movie will be released in a dozen of languages in India and worldwide. Although a young actor from Punjab has been finalized for the lead role of Manmohan Singh, the hunt is still on for key roles in the movie such as Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

sanjayaA person associated with the movie said, “We are already in touch with overseas casting agencies looking for a foreign actress who makes the cut (to act as Sonia Gandhi) if we are unable to find one in the Indian industry.”

According to the information, filmmakers are in contact with a veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee to play the role of Sanjaya Baru, who was the media adviser of the former prime minister from May 2004 to August 2008. Baru has shared the vast of internal information in the book and the filmmakers want to portray the real functioning of the prime minister’s office in the movie.

Sanjaya Baru had published his book in 2014, just before the general election and the book had created a stir in the political spectrum of India. Sunil Bohra after deciding to make a Bollywood flick on the book and not the documentary, bough the rights of the Baru’s book last year under his company Bohra Bros. Production.

The endeavor is not to create any sensation but to present a true account of what transpired during those ten years which changed the political spectrum of the country and fortunes of India's oldest political party-Congress.”

Bohra has some tremendous record in film production with award winning films like Chittagong and Shahid in his pocket as well as the blockbusters such as Gangs of Wasseypur.
