Last year, Rahul Gandhi had accused RSS for stopping him from entering into the 16th century monastery in Barpeta, around 76 km from Guwahati. Rahul Gandhi could not visit the Barpeta Satra monastery before a roadshow in December as there were some women pilgrims inside. On the next day, accusing RSS for stopping him from entering into the the temple Rahul Gandhi had sadi, “When I went to Assam I wanted to visit the Barpeta temple. The RSS people stopped me from going into the temple. This is the way BJP operates. They put women in front of me and prevented me from going in.”

In an another defamation case of linking the organization to the murder of Mahatma Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi has recently told the Supreme Court that he was ready to face the trial in Maharashtra court, after the court dismissed his plea to withdraw the case against him.
