Shooting Occurred In The Anti-Trump Rally At Downtown, Seattle

According to the reports, five people have been shot after an unidentified man opened fire on the anti-Trump rally in Downtown, Seattle, Washington organized in protests against Republican Presidential nominee and now the President-elect of the US Donald Trump’s surprising win in the recently concluded US Presidential Election.

While speaking to the reporters, the Assistant Chief of the Seattle Police Department, Robert Merner said, “The shooting did not appear to be related to the anti-Trump demonstrations but instead stemmed from some type of personal argument.”

He said, “It appears that some type of argument took place. This individual began to walk away from the crowd, then turned and fired into the crowd.”

The suspect fled the area on the foot, he added. The police have initiated the search operation.

Although the police as well as the fire crew were on the scenes as they were present at the spot to monitor the demonstrations, they unable to arrive in time to engage with the gunman.

The police has closed down the intersection of Third Avenue on the Pine Streets, the spot where the shooting occurred in front of a 7-11 convenience store.

According to the media reports, witnesses heard few gunshots.

Since the Republican nominee Donald Trump decided as the President-elect of the United States, various groups have appeared on streets to protest against the decision criticizing him for his controversial comments on immigrants, Muslims and other groups during the campaign.
