Mother Gave Birth On Board; Baby Received A Huge Reward From Airline

A mother gave birth to a baby girl mid-air in a Manila-bound flight forcing the plane to land at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on medical emergency. Both the mother as well as the baby are out of danger and are admitted in the hospital, according to the reports, despite the baby has to be closely taken care of as the baby born prematurely.

The baby girl, named as Haven, has been received a special birthday present from the Airline service as according to the Cebu Pacific Air, the baby is first who took birth on any of their flight.

Cebu Pacific’s chief executive, Lance Gokongwei said that to celebrate the birth, Haven would receive one million GetGo points, a part of airline’s air miles reward program.

The 32-year0old mother delivered a premature baby on board after she went on labor, traveling with her mother, from Dubai to Manila on August 14. The plane had to make emergency landing at Hyderabad’s international airport.

Sunil Kumar, Center Head, Apollo Cradle said, “At present, the baby is stable and the mother is being trained in feeding and taking care of the baby as babies born pre-term require specialized care.”
