India Lost To South Korea In Kabaddi Word Cup Opener

In a deeply shocking upset, South Korea managed to beat India 34-32 in the opening game of the Kabaddi World Cup 2016. This is the first ever loss of India by South Korea in Kabaddi.

Although India were well ahead in the game and dominated most of the part, it was South Korea’s outstanding performance due to which they wiped off the deficit and brought laurels for their country.

The Koreans celebrated their win after the match quite strongly and the hosts were still couldn’t that they could not hold on to their three-point lead in the final three minutes and faced the lost in the opener.

“Our raiders weren't at their best today, we also made some mistakes at the end and that's why we lost. But nothing's lost yet. We will get back and correct our mistakes,” said Indian captain Anup Kumar.

Although Anup Kumar performed brilliantly while India were leading 18-13, other players such as Jasvir Singh and Rahul Chaudhari could not perform well and the South Koreans were giving the tough fight.

Korea managed to reduce the deficit to just three points 15-18 in the second half. However, Manjeet’s performance took India to 22-15 ahead. Countering steadily but strongly, Koreans managed to cut the deficit by 19-24, then 26-29 and finally leveling at 31-31.

The Koreans managed to take lead of 33-31 as Jan Kun Lee super raided Deepak Hooda, at the final minutes.
