Story
Dear Zindagi showcases the story of a cinematographer Kaira, played by Alia Bhatt, who is surrounded by various problems in her life. Although she is good at her work, she is not finding any big breaks in her career. Due to her own apprehensions, her personal relationship with family as well as various boys in her life are totally destroyed. When Kaira decides to take the help of a therapists for her problems in her life, Dr. Jehangir Khan, played by Shah Rukh Khan, enters into the film. How he consult with Kaira? What he does to solve Kaira’s problems in life? is the story of the film.
Analysis
Dear Zindagi portrays Alia Bhatt in the center and all the other men around her are just mere to support the actress. Director Gauri Shinde, like her debut, has made a woman-centric film. Credit should be given to the director for showcasing Kaira’s character, who has been showcased as vry mean towards her family. However, you can also notice the warmth she has for her friends.
Performance
Alia Bhatt once again has showed a great acting performance and has proved herself that she is one of the greatest acting stars Bollywood currently have. Shah Rukh Khan on the other hand has played his part best but more importantly he has given Alia a stage to perform while he sits behind the camera, most of the times. Other male characters such as Zli Zafar and Kunal Kapoor has also done their part great. In the Direction, Gauri Shinde once again has impressed a lot. Its not that film doesn’t have any weak scenes, but she has overshadowed them through her great work. However, it feels that editor should have run his scissors more often in the second half of the film. Music of the film is good and lyrics by Amit Trivedi is just awesome.

If you are looking for something new and great to watch, just go for Dear Zindagi, you will not be disappointed.
