Simple sitting-rising test predicts how long one live

We all know that there are numerous health benefits of fitness, but it isn't every day that exercise is used to predict a person's death. As per the study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, the simple and basic exercise of sitting down and standing up without taking any support can suggest how long you will live.

Researchers have conducted coring system for the test and they found out that people who scored 3 points or less were 5 times are likely to die within 6 years than those who scored over 8 points. The sitting-rising test (SRT) is mainly used to check the flexibility of athletes, but now the test is being used to persuade patients that they need to stay active to maintain their muscle and balance, and live longer.

The test, led by Brazilian physician Claudio Gil Araujo, involved studying over 2000 adults aged between 51 and 80-years-old. Each and every individual was asked to perform the teats to and from the floor, which was scored from 0 to 5, with 1 point being subtracted from 5 for each support used.
