Mohammed Shami Helped India To Win Kolkata Test While His Daughter Admitted In Hospital

India’s fast bowler, Mohammed Shami was looking in his full flow during the second Kolkata Test of the ongoing series against New Zealand, which India won by 179 runs and the pacer took three wickets in each innings.

However, the world was unaware of the fact that Shami’s daughter got admitted into the hospital on the second day of the Test as she was suffering from breathing problems. After the end of every day’s play Shami used to visit his daughter in the hospital before returning to the team hotel.

Shami’s daughter, Aira was released on the last day of the Test, according to the people close to Shami.

Reports said that during the few days when his daughter was in the hospital, he was not in peace, however, he never let his sorrow to come between his performance while playing for the national team and took three wickets in each innings and scored important 14 runs which took India past 300 in the first innings of the Test.

Shami said that his team and especially the captain Virat Kohli supported him throughout the difficult period.

About Kohli, Shami has been quoted as saying, “My captain had given me huge inspiration every night after I returned from the hospital. So, I am extremely thankful to him and also thankful to the mates who also gave me belief that my daughter must get cured by the time Test ends.”
