Facebook To Launch Live Streaming Feature For Pages

The social networking giant, Facebook, who had launched the live video facility for the users at the beginning of 2016, has now allowed verified pages to use the service, according to the reports.

The company confirmed that the service will be available for the verified pages starting Thursday and the admins can schedule live videos, up to one week in advance, via the Facebook Live API. Facebook is looking forward to launch this service for all the pages in coming weeks.

According to Facebook, the ability to schedule Live Videos will make it easier for Pages to create buzz with their audience ahead of the broadcast. It said that an announcement post will be automatically made in the News Feed once the admin schedules a Live Video. Facebook will also allow the audience to receive one-time reminder that will alert them just before the broadcast begins.

In the blog post, Facebook’s Product Manager, Peter Roybal and Software Engineer Brian Lin said, “Once you've scheduled a live video, you will be able to share a link to the broadcast or embed it in other places, such as websites or blogs.”

The company has also explained a step-by-step guide for the admins of the verified pages on how they can schedule a live video with the help of Publishing Tools.
