India off the mark with first test

After the excellent performance of the Indian cricket team on Day three and continuing the same on day four, they had a healthy lead ahead of Australia mounting the pressure on the Kangaroos. Excellent bowling line up with a great spin attack spelled doom for the opponent team on Day 4.

Wickets collapsed in rapid succession and things didn't look very well when the Indian bowlers started to attack well before lunch. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up a few wickets just before lunch and adding to his wickets were from Harbhajan Singh and Jadeja.

Australian players Clarke, Watson and all others failed as Henriques the debutant struggled to swim the team to the shore single handedly. His herculean efforts in which he managed to score 81 runs were not just sufficient for the team to be saved from the violent Indian storm of lead. Finally they managed to drag the game to Day 5 but they finally gave up early in the day with a target of just 50 runs.

It was sort of a formality for the Indians to pad up and reach the pitch to claim their victory. An hour before the lunch session, they sealed the win ecstatically. With this commendable performance, India lead the series with an early win 1-0 in the four match test series. Will India continue to do the same at Hyderabad in their second encounter against Australian team this series?
