Assembly adjourned amid pandemonium

Speaker Nadendla Manohar adjourned the assembly till tomorrow amid pandemonium in the house with the opposition members surrounding the Speaker’s podium and raising slogans.

Earlier, Manohar adjourned the house for half an hour as TDP and TRS members demanded the Chair to take up discussion on their adjournment motions. Following the rejection of their motions by Manohar, the opposition members staged demonstration at the Speaker podium and raised slogans. TDP members demanded a discussion on the liquor syndicates and demanded dismissal of ministers involved in liquor syndicate business.

Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhar Babu announced the Government was ready to discuss all issues including the liquor syndicates. Not satisfied with the assurance, TDP members continued sloganeering leading to pandemonium in the assembly. Manohar adjourned the house for half an hour.

The din continued after the house reassembled and the Speaker adjourned the house till tomorrow. Meanwhile, the discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s speech remained inconclusive.

House Committee dissolved

Speaker dissolved the House Committee formed to look into the land allotments and announced a new committee would be formed soon. (JUBS)
