Sonia Gandhi hospitalized in Delhi for infection

Congress president Sonia Gandhi was hospitalized on Thursday for treatment of lower respiratory tract infection and she was admitted in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. As per hospital officials, she is in stable condition.

"She has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital around 8.30pm for further treatment of the infection," AICC general secretary Ajay Maken told PTI.

Sonia is being treated by Arup Kumar Basu, senior consultant in the chest medicine department and as per doctors, the problem is quite common during winter season. In 2011 in US Sonia has undergone a surgery and she spent about 5 weeks in the hospital. Due to her health issues she has cancelled various elections meetings previously.
