RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan Negative On The Second Term

RBI governor Raghuram Rajan, through a letter, has made it clear that he will return to academia when his current term ends on September 4.

The Reserve Bank of India has posted Rajan’s message on its website.

Raghuram Rajan has been in lot of news recently after BJP MP Subramanian Swamy attacked for not taking necessary steps to boost the economy.

Rajan wrote in the message, “While I was open to seeing these developments through, on due reflection, and after consultation with the government, I want to share with you that I will be returning to academia when my term as Governor ends on September 4, 2016. I will, of course, always be available to serve my country when needed.”

After former governor of RBI D Subbarao, Rajan succeeded him and took charge as RBI governor on September 3, 2013 as the 23rd governor of the RBI.
