Militants In Jammu And Kashmir Robbed Rs. 12.45 Lakh From Bank In Old Notes

In an interesting incident occurred in Jammu And Kashmir’s central district of Malpora where the militants looted a bank and robbed Rs. 12.45 lakh. However, they suffered a huge embarrassment when they found that Ra. 11 lakh among the total loot is in old notes which have been already banned by the government under demonetization process.

According to the police, four masked men entered into the Malpora branch at Charar-i-Sharief in Budgam district. The police spokesperson said that Budgam police have already registered a complaint and the search operation to capture the culprits has already been launched.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Budgam, Abdul Wahid Shah said, “This is a branch that has been operating from inside hired shops. There were no security cameras installed in the branch.”

According to the media reports, four men boarded on WagonR came to the bank and entered the branch. One of them then slapped the cashier and ordered him to hand over the cash. After taking the money they escaped in the same car, reports said.

Police said, “Investigations have been put on fast track to track down the militants responsible for the heist.”

The robbery took place amid the process of financing terror in the valley has lowered down impressively due to demonetization process. According to the reports, the sources of finance for various terrorist activities has been dried up.
