Sonia Gandhi Under Observation In the Hospital

Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s conditions is ‘stable’ and she is recovering at the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital at New Delhi after she was admitted there last night due to high fever, said Congress leader Randeep Surjewala.

Earlier, Sonia Gandhi fell ill midway of her rally in Varanasi where she started party’s campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in the state.

According to the sources doctors has kept Mrs. Gandhi under observation after as she was running high fever on Tuesday and got dehydrated due to exhaustion during the rally.

The Congress chief returned Delhi on Tuesday late night through a chartered flight after abandoning the roadshow in the middle.

AICC media cell in-charge Randeep Surhewala in a statement said, “Yesterday itself, she had said that she would return to Varanasi to meet the people and to have 'darshan of the historical temple of Kashi Vishwanath Ji'. On return, she was admitted to hospital in Delhi, is stable and is recovering under medical supervision.”

He added that the Congress president is overwhelmed by the concern and affection of fellow countrymen and crores of Congressmen and has thanked everyone for their good wishes.

Rahul Gandhi, Congress vice-president as well as Priyanka Gandhi were by her side. Her son-in-law Robert Vadra also visited her.
