Congress Functionaries Will Hold Rallies In Over 66 Districts in UP

Congress top guns in Uttar Pradesh will hold rallies in 66 districts over 50 days to connect with the voters for promoting the party candidates for the UP Assembly Elections which are going to be held in next year.

Under the leadership of Congress’s UP chief Raj Babbar as well as chief ministerial candidate Sheila Dikshit, Congress will hold two yatras from April 21 to October 9, 2017, reports said.

The two yatras will touch 33 districts each making it a total of 66 districts to reach out the voters in the state.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, AICC General Secretary, in a press conference said, “We are fighting the elections to win it and not to just increase our tally.” The Press conference was attended by Sheila Dikshit, campaign committee chief Sanjay Sinh, Pramod Tewari and Raj Babbar.

The second leg of the campaign will showcase Congress’s state leaders through a bus yatra, Rahul Gandhi with an impressive workers meeting and party chief Sonia Gandhi through a roadshow in Varanasi that beat all expectations.

Congress is following a slogan in UP of ‘27 Saal, UP Behaal’ symbolizing the state’s falling in the 27 years during which the Congress was out of power in the state and SP, BSP and BJP ruled that state in chances.
