Pakistani Movie To Screen In MAMI Film Festival

Although the debate on banning the Pakistani artistes from working in the Indian film industry is diving the industry into two after the Uri Attacks, another reports suggest that the Mumbai Academy of Moving Arts (MAMI) Film Festival will be screening a 1959 Pakistani film, The Day Shall Dawn, in this year’s special edition.

The film was made Pakistan and East-Pakistan (now Bangladesh)’s official entry into the 1960 Oscars, although it failed to make it to the the final list of nominees.

The bilingual movie made in Hindi and Urdu, shows a story of a village of fishermen and their aspiration, every fisherman in the village dreams of having his own boat someday.
