Eman Ahmed, world’s heaviest woman, has successfully underwent a weight-loss surgery at Saifee Hospital in Mumbai. Doctors from the Saifee Hospital has confirmed that Ahmed has underwent a sleeve gastrostomy, a surgical weight-loss procedure which will reduce the size of the stomach to 15% of its original size. Doctors have also removed a large portion of the stomach fat and limited her food consumption ability.

“Once she is stable, she will return to her hometown and her weight loss progress will be tracked by the team of doctors. She has already lost over 100 KG with the help of liquid diet including protein and fiber supplements and we are hoping that she will lose another 100 KG during the course of 6-8 months,” said one of the doctors from the team treating Ahmed.

"We are trying to get her fit enough to fly back to Egypt as soon as possible," the hospital said in a statement.
