Fifteen school children had been injured after the school van had overturned while they were going to the school on Monday.

According to the locals version of the story, the van was overspeeding and the negligence of the van driver is the major cause for the accident. The residents had been alarmed by the yells and shrieks of traumatized kids and then they rushed to the site of the accident. Most kids had already received burns before the passers-by from the hot water that flowed back from the engine after the vehicle overturned.

The van was carrying over 30 students to a private school in Murshidabad. Since the van was covered by a net, the children were trapped inside the vehicle after the van overturned and could not escape the burn injuries from the engine which aggravated their trauma.
