The instances of rapes in the country is increasing at an alarmingly high frequency. The governments are trying to stop such events but they have not had the smallest of the success to date while the number of cases seems to pile up.

One student of Class IX was abducted by two miscreants on bike and taken to an unknown place where she was raped by both of them repeatedly for two days after which she was dumped near the Cooch Behar Hospital on Monday.

The members of the girl's family had lodged a complaint with the police the following day but the police are yet to make revelations on the case though they have initiated investigations on the same. They are yet to find leads to the case.

The girl mentioned that she did not know the two bike-borne criminals and she also has no idea of the place she was taken to. She mentioned that she was forcibly picked up on her way back home from the school on Saturday.

She was later ditched at the entrance of Cooch Behar Hospital on Mahalaya. Locals who spotted her admitted her in the hospital. Chhatra Parishad members also protested against the tragedy in front of the Cooch Behar police station seeking immediate action and suitable punishment for the criminals who outraged her modesty.
