Crime rate on women has been continuously increasing, last night at Hajo in Rangiya a 25-years-old women was gang raped by her lover and seven of his friends.

As per Kanteswar Gogoi the Sub-Divisional Police Officer said the victim is from Nalbari and she came to meet her boyfriend who he had befriended her in past five months over phone and she trusted him very blindly.

The boy actually introduced himself as Rahul Das to the victim but actually his name was Fakhruddin Ali, they both met each other and went out to watch a movie in a theatre. Later the boy offered to drop the girl at home but he took to a schmmhool building where seven of his friends were already gathered.

Then he and his seven friends took turns in raping the hapless girl, she was screaming loud for help and hearing her screams some people from nearby village rushed to the spot and saved the girl. They also got hold of three of the culprits and handed them to police.

However five of them managed to escape which also includes Fakhruddin. The three culprits who have caught have been identified as Alam Ali, Jaimuddin Ahmed and Hashen Ali.

Gogoi said Preliminary medical examination of the girl confirmed the crime. Detailed tests will be conducted tomorrow at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
