Clashes Erupted In Kashmir; 1 Dead

A man has been killed in fresh violence erupted in Kashmir’s Bandipore, less than 70 KM from state’s capital, Srinagar, on Tuesday morning. Although the curfew has been imposed in all ten districts of Kashmir valley on Eid, protesters has defied restriction on many places and has taken out demonstrations. Several people have been injured while clashes with security forces, across the valley.

The curfew has been imposed after the Separatists called for march on Eid to the local office of United Nations. A noted Kashmiri poet and social activist Zarief Ahmad Zarief said, “In my life of 70 years, I have never seen such a situation when you are facing curbs on Eid day. This is the most sacred day for us and on this day such helplessness, desperation and restrictions.”

A spokesperson of former chief minister Omar Abdullah’s National Conference said, “The PDP always loves to compare the situation with 2010 agitation but never ever has there been a curfew on auspicious occasion like Eid before.”

Kashmir valley has been under tremendous violence since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8 and the authorities, the government are working hard to keep the situation calm and peaceful.
