State’s tourism department will soon have a tourist security force in place that would help contain child sex tourism in the state, said state’s tourism minister Dilip Parulekar. With taking few personnel from the existing security force the department will increase its strength.

The department have already moved a file to the chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar and they will be able to proceed further after his approval, Parulekar said in response to the question about the existence of child sex tourism in the state.

Parulekar said, “Every tourist destination has this problem”. He added that it would be beneficial for the department once it has its own security force to tackle the situation better. “I’m not saying the problem doesn’t exist,” he said even though the stat’s police are going a good job.
