After Rahul Gandhi, Congress’s Official Twitter Account Hacked

After the incident of hacking of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s official Twitter account, now the official Twitter handle of Indian National Congress has also hacked, according to the reports. Various abusive tweets were also started to appear on Congress’s official twitter handle @INCIndia. Apart from the Twitter handle, Congress’s website was also found to be hacked. The abusive tweets were deleted in 30 minutes, according to the reports.

Rahul Gandhi, while speaking on the incident to a news agency said, “It’s a huge question mark on the digital security.”

A name of the group which hacked both the Twitter accounts as well as the website is reportedly Legion, according to the tweets posted by the hackers, although still there is not confirmation on it.

While speaking on it, Congress said that a fascist culture is behind the hacking, taking a dig at its main political rival, BJP. Calling the incident of hacking of Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account, ‘unscrupulous, unethical and roguish’ the Congress party had condemned the incident.

Party spokesman Randeep Surjewala, through Twitter said, “Such unscrupulous, unethical and roguish conduct of venal trolls to hack @OfficeOfRG reflects disturbing insecurities of prevalent fascist culture.” The party has also lodged a police complaint against the unidentified hackers in the Cyber Cell of the Delhi Police. The issue is also expected to raise in both the houses of the parliament in the ongoing winter session.
