World heritage Charminar need special care!

Quiet sadly, Department of Archeology, GHMC, Police Department and Pollution Control Borad all have experienced failure in implementing high quality care of the global icon of Hyderabad Charminar and its surroundings.

The pedestrian project which was commenced 15 years ago has not been completed yet. The stones laid have come out at many places and water spew out from them. Moreover, festival month of Ramadan known to fast approaching and if the floor is not repaired instantaneously and the flow of water is not stopped people will experience tremendous embarrassing situations.

On the other part pollution control board is also neglectful of the destruction caused due to environmental pollution to the heritage monument. The air pollution at Charminar and its surroundings has been recorded 127 micrograms per cubic metre, which happens to be quiet higher than the other busiest places of twin cities.

Negligence is once again the prominent reason for horrible condition of this world heritage monument in Hyderabad. And why only this, if we see other World heritage sites in India like The Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri also facing the same instance of being negligent. What's more unfortunate is that we neglect in recognising our own identity what the world identify to be as worldclass.

Let us understand the fact that these monuments have been built during the great past and need intense care for their survival. Its equal to a sick who has been admitted in hospital intensive care unit and undergoing treatment. If he is avoided then his health will get worst.

Realize before its too late, save our heritage!
