Godman Rampal was finally arrested by Haryana Police on Wednesday evening and he was taken into custody after 9 p.m form his Satlok Ashram near Barwala and he was taken away in an ambulance by police.

Rampal will be produced before the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday and against him the high court has issued a non-bailable warrants as he had skipped the court hearing third time, Meanwhile, police have arrested around 450 supporters.

Clashes have been erupted at Rampal ashram whose supporters on Tuesday battled the police and a number of people were injured in the violence at the Satlok Ashram and around six people lost their lives.

"We have arrested him. He is in our custody. He is being taken to hospital for medical examination," a senior police officer said outside the ashram.

Rampal was taken to Chandigarh after medical examination and the doctors made it clear that he was fine and he suffers from hypertension and complained of headache.
