Chinese Media Attacks Indian Government Over Expulsion Of 3 Journalists

China, which is familiar territory for the expulsion of the journalists for reporting sensitive content in the media about the government’s policies now has condemned India’s role in refusing visas to three journalists over the security threat issue.

Terming the incident as revenge policy of India towards China, for refusing the former’s plea to join Nuclear Suppliers Group earlier, the editorial in Global Time advocated that the state should apply the policy of tit for tat to India. It said, “On the visa issue this time, we should take actions display our actions. We at least should make a few Indians feel Chinese visas are also not easy to get.”

Claiming the incident a reaction of society’s soaring nationalism of the recent years, it further added, “Crowned by Western public opinion as the world’s biggest democracy, the Indians have a strong sense of pride.”

Alleging that there have always been problem from India while issuing visas to Chinese people it said, “No matter whether Chinese reporters apply for a long-term or a temporary journalist visa, they will come across many troubles. Complaints about difficulties of acquiring an Indian visa have also been heard from other Chinese who deal with India. In contrast, it’s much easier for Indians to get a Chinese visa.”

Chinese media have raised serious allegations on India with completely missing the fact that six months ago the Chinese government has expelled a French journalist for refusing to apologize for an article criticizing the President Xi Jinping’s policy towards Muslims in Xinjiang.

The Chinese Media has always been against the Indian government in recent days. Firstly it had criticized India over growing nationalism in India and India’s addition into the NSG and said that while the government is dealing with the matter professionally, many right wing groups in India are claiming China responsible for India’s failed attempt to join NSG despite strong support from the West.

India have expelled the Chinese reporters as they were found impersonating people to gain access to to sensitive and restricted areas hence, posing a major security threat.

It would be good if the Chinese media can check their own pockets on the issue of expulsion of journalists before putting questions on India.
