Two Students of AIIMS Got Injured By Health Minister JP Nadda’s Car

Two girls have been injured by the official car carrying Union Health Minister JP Nadda, which triggers a strong protest by medial students at All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal on Saturday.

According to the reports, one of the wheel of the vehicle carrying Nadda ran over the foot of the two medical students. Reports added that one of them later fainted at the spot. Both the girls, who have been identified as Ijya Pandey and Anjali Krishna and are the third year MBBS students, were taken to the AIIMS hospital for treatment. JP Nadda was on his first visit to the institute.

A students of AIIMS, Bhopal has been quoted by a leading daily as saying, “Health minister Nadda’s visit is third by a minister in as many years and situation has not improved. We are demanding for minimum standards for any medical student.”

AIIMS Bhopal, an autonomous institute, which has been struggling to meet standards set by the Medical Council of India (MCI), does not fall under the preview of MCI.

“We’re investigating the incident,” said Joint Secretary of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) Sunil Sharma.
