Azam Khan Allegedly Made Derogatory Remarks On Dr. Ambedkar

Uttar Pradesh’s urban development minister and a senior Samajwadi Party leader, Azam Khan, whole accompanied UP CM Akhilesh Yadav to Ghaziabad on Monday to inaugurate Haj House, has allegedly made derogatory remarks on Dr. Ambedkar.

According to reports, Azam Khan, without naming Dr. Ambedkar said, “The statue (of Ambedkar) pointing its finger into the distance seems to say that not only does it own the plot of land on which it stands, but also the one towards which it points its finger.”

BSP has taken a strong objection on Azam Khan’s comments against Ambedkar. Virender Jatav, President of BSP Ghaziabad district, said, “Azam Khan’s statement on Baba Saheb not only reflects his anti-dalit mindset but that of SP as well. We have taken note of it and apprised our leader Mayawati of it.”

In the public meeting, Azam Khan said, “Beef exports in the country have gone up 1.5 times ever since BJP came to power. BJP has forgotten its developmental agenda.”

Responding to the criticism BJP district president, Ajay Sharma said, “The condition of UP is known to everyone. Here law and order has hit rock bottom and still the chief minister is trying to hoodwink people by talking about development”.

He said further, “Inauguration of Haj House with such fanfare is aimed at appeasing a particular community. The people will teach this government a lesson in the polls next year.”

Local Congress leader Narendra Rathi also criticized the Akhilesh Yadav government and said, “We wanted to meet the chief minister to apprise him of the problems of people in the trans-Hindon area. There is no government hospital in the area. However, we were arrested midway.”

All the parties in UP are readying for the assembly elections in the state which are going to happen in 2017 and no party wants to leave behind in the race to win the elections.
