State Assembly elections 2016: Final Results

Keeping their rule untouched, Mamata Banerjee and Jayalalithaa managed to defeat the anti-incumbency factor and won the elections in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, cementing the situation of challenge to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the regional parties.

In Kerala, maintaining the two decades long trend of choosing the alternate governments after 5-years, people elected the left this time. The Regime of UDF alliance of Congress now has ended in the state and the people has gone to the reds.

BJP, a truly nationalist party
bjpThe BJP, who was under scrutiny after got defeated in Delhi as well as in Bihar, stormed into the north east region of the country by winnings Assam on its own. This victory is certainly will give a new hope to the BJP for the upcoming elections mainly in Uttar Pradesh. Amit Shah, BJP president will now have a better hold at the proceedings of the party and will now look forward for the better performance at upcoming elections in a hill state of Uttarakhand and highly important Uttar Pradesh.

Congress, becoming invisible throughout the country
CongressCongress, on the other hand has almost washed out from the country with having only one big state of Karnataka under the rule along with few north eastern states. Congress will now have to build the party in a new way and have to fight for their existence in the country. The leadership of Rahul Gandhi has now come under the spotlight and he has to work hard to get the party out from the debacle. With a win in a union territory of Puducherry, Congress has something to cheer for.

Mamata is back
MamataMamata Banerjee who was looking a bit weak before the elections made a humongous successful entry once again into the state and have presented a strong challenge before the lefts in West Bengal. The left which is left with only one state of Kerala, has completely lost in WB. Putting an end to any Kanhaiya-Kumar like structure in the state.

Jaya defeated the Anti Incumbency
JayalalithaaJayalalithaa, who is fighting against the challenges put forward by the opposition and allegations of corruption has again proved her power in the state and won the state in style. Her party managed to defeat the DMK+Congress alliance and went ahead by a bigger margin.

The equation has changed a lot since the results as it will now definitely change the course in the nation for the upcoming general elections of 2019. The BJP who is fighting for GST to get pass in the parliament will now look forward for the same more aggressively as the Congress has failed to perform well resulting into the lowering down the power of the party in the country’s political spectrum. Through Mamata and Jayalalithaa, regional parties successfully managed to present a rigid challenge in front of the BJP instead of the nationalist party like Congress and this shows that BJP will have a threat from the regional parties in the future elections.

Earlier, The Exit Polls has predicted  the big win for NDA in Assam, end of Jayalalitha regime in Tamil Nadu and DMK in power, end of left in Kerala and Mamta’s power untouched at West Bengal. Congress will form the government in a union territory of Puducherry, according to the exit polls.
