Protests Erupted In Kashmir After A Young Boy Was Found Killed With Pellet Injuries

Huge protests erupted in Kashmir’s Srinagar after a 15-year-boy died in police firing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Harwan town on Friday.

The boy has been identified as Momin Altaf, who was killed after forces used pellet guns on protesting crowds in Harwan last night.

According to a police official, the dead body of Momin Altaf was found with pellet injuries late last night.

Security forces, however, said that they had fired pellets from a distance and it should not have led to his death.

Reports said that massive number of people gathered for his funeral prayers this morning.

The army has deployed one additional brigade comprising three artillery battalions in South Kashmir, where the conditions has been worsened by the protests. More troops are on way to contain the unrest, said the sources.
