Delhi High Court blamed Delhi Police for being irresponsible till Obama's visit

Delhi High Court blamed Centre and Delhi Police for not taking proper security measurements till the Obama’s visit to India. Earlier Delhi HC ordered the police to arrange CC cameras in all the major places of the city. However, Delhi police put it to the deaf ear. Now they came forward to install 15,000 CCTV cameras ahead of United States of America President’s visit. This has made the High Court angry and leads to the stringent warnings to the Police.

"Because of a foreign President you do it, but not for Indian citizens. If we direct you to do it for Indians, you do in months and years, else you do it in weeks!" a bench of Justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva remarked. Amicus curiae Meera Bhatia informed Delhi High Court that Delhi that the snail-slow Delhi police will get 15,000 extra CCTV's during Obama's visit. Bhatia was appointed amicus to monitor progress in making Delhi safer for women following the Nirbhaya gang rape
