Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, finally breaking his silence, spoke on the deteriorating situation in the capital due to the deaths occurred from the vector-borne diseases and appealed all the political parties and the people of Delhi to get united to fight against Dengue and Chikungunya.

Kejriwal, who was in facing a criticism for not being there in the capital in the severe situation, had gone to Bengaluru for his throat surgery.

Delhi CM, immediately after returning from Bengaluru, published a video, which was uploaded on Twitter by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteer and National Council Member, Akshay Malhotra on Sunday evening.

Giving reference of India-Pakistan cricket match, Arvind Kejriwal asked all the political parties to unitedly fight against the diseases.

In his address, Delhi CM said, “I appeal the Congress Party and the BJP with folded hands to get united, like we all Indians get together (to support India) during India-Pakistan cricket match, and wage war against mosquitoes. If Delhi got success on much bigger issue of Odd-Even scheme, we’ll sort out this mosquito menace.”

He further added that large number of chikungunya and dengue cases have been registered, with people in almost every house in Delhi have been found to be suffering due to it.

He said, “Besides, the rise in mosquito menace, lot of politics played on this issue. I believe mosquitoes don’t discriminate between Congress and BJP person while biting. We should stop politicking and take this problem head on. MCD didn’t do its job, which it was supposed to, but not Delhi government, MCDs and Central government have to join hands and fight it out for the people of Delhi.”
