A woman from Kerala has claimed that her daughter, who is a student of Aeronautical Engineering in Kochi has been forcibly converted to Islam. In her complaint the woman has said that her daughter, whose name was Aparna has been forcibly converted and her names changed to Shahana.
According to the reports, Mini Vijayam from Pagode in Thiruvananthapuram said in the complaint, “When we came to know about it, we approached the police who then located her in Kozhikode.”
Aparna was staying in her college hostel of Jual Education Trust in Ernakulam which she had joined it in August 2013. The police has found her living at Sathya Sarini in Kozhikode, the institution which aims to propagate Islam among non-Muslim population.
Meanwhile, the Kerala police has launched and investigation into the 20 youths who were went missing from Kasaragod and Palkkad districts and speculated to have joined the Islamic State. A converted Hindu girl Nimisha, changed to Fathima, was also included in those 20 youths, reports said.
