The 14th floor slab of an under-construction building collapsed in city’s Banewadi area which killed 9 people and injured few, reports said.
Reports added that 13 people were present at the 14th floor of the under construction tower of Pride Purple Construction. Eight died on spot.

Pune mayor Prashant Jagtap said, “We have taken this incident very seriously. We shall order an inspection of all such construction sites now to ascertain whether they are employing adequate safety measures of the workers.”
It has not been disclosed why the workers were not wearing safety harnesses and why the safety net was not erected below to stop any casualties.
Building contractors as well as building owners are summoned by the police for investigations into the case.
