WhatsApp Gets Mentions Feature In Group Chat

The leading instant message service, WhatsApp has added another new feature in its app. Now the users will allow the specific individuals in a group chat making it useful for the persons in large family or office groups, to chat with a particular person. Reports said that the feature is available on iOS and Android.

According to the reports, the user will just need to type ‘@’ symbol in the group chat, and will automatically it will start showing the names of the group members you can tag. Choose the person you want the send the message and send the message after tapping on it.

The feature is useful for the persons for communicating with a particular person in the group, while the other persons just ignore the message.

Reports said that WhatsApp was planning to bring the feature earlier, but it took some time for the feature to be launched.

Earlier, WhatsApp has added various new features such as ability to format texts, share PDFs and documents along with the files from third-party apps such as Google Drive, iCloud, and Microsoft’s OneDrive. The company has said that it is planning to launch new features in its app for the users.

However, WhatsApp had faced a harsh criticism over changing its privacy policy and sharing the users’ data along with the phone numbers to its parent company, Facebook.
