Girl Died In An Accident Caused By Stone Pelting In Srinagar

A girl has been died, reportedly due to accident, caused by stone pelting in Srinagaron Tuesday.

“Stone pelting led to the death of a young girl on Tuesday morning when she along with her sister was hit by a vehicle near Parimpora in Srinagar city,” said Police.

Police added, “The sports utility vehicle was moving backwards after it faced heavy stone pelting by a mob, and hit the two sisters.”

Reports said that a crea-colored Mahindra Scorpio was moving backwards after it faced heavy stone pelting by a mob and hit the girls, which has been identified as the Fozia and Nadia, daughters of Mohammad Sadiq Lone, a resident of Gulbagh.

Police said, “Both were critically injured and were shifted to a hospital where the elder sister Fozia succumbed to her injuries.”

In an another incident, one person, identified as Furqan Hamid, resident of Zoonimar in Srinagar was critically injured when he faced a stone pelting when he was riding a scooty near Allie Masjid Eidgah, in the old city of Safa Kadal Area.

Report said that he had received serious head injuries. However he is stable after he was shifted to hospital.

Violence in Kashmir valley has been continuously increasing since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani by the security forces on July 8.
