In Deganga a Class-XI girl was gang raped by unknown people where she was dragged from her house while she was lighting candles on Thursday night.

The girl was found lying in an uninhabited field adjacent to her house and the villagers have rescued her and they found the girl in an unconscious state. The girl was immediately rushed to nearby hospital, Barasat Hospita.

A complaint was filed at the police station yet, no action was taken against the complaint lodged. The incident took place around 7.30pm on Thursday while the girl was lighting candles on Diwali.

In the complaint the girl claimed that, "They pounced on me from behind. They also threw something on my eyes, after which I could not see anything. They gagged and dragged me out to a bush to torture me."

The girl’s parents found her missing and they started searching for her and the villages and neighbours found the girl lying in an unconscious state and was immediately rushed to Barasat Hospital. The victim was asked about the incident and she was not in a state even to talk.

"They tortured me brutally and I am still in pain," the victim said. A senior district police officer said that a complaint has been received and the girl was sent for medical tests.
