A Blast At A Cracker Factory, 1 Killed 10 Injured

The huge explosion took place at the cracker factory in the city’s manufacturing unit at Diamond Harbour today. The man named Abhinandan Haldar was killed in the blast and 10 people were injured.

Police and fire fighters are doing their best to control the situation. Few people are still trapped inside the factory, according to some eye-witnesses.

The blast took place at around 8 in the morning at the factory in Diamond Harbour. When the locals rushed off to the spot they saw the entire compound factory was ablaze.

A senior police officer said, “Most workers would stay inside the factory at night. All of them have been injured.”

The Factory located in Haldara Para, Hajipur was manufacturing the crackers illegally according to some locals.

Rescue operations are carrying out in the area. The exact reason of the blast is still unknown. Bomb-squad is also dispatched to the spot, authorities said.

Previously, the blast took place at an illegal cracker manufacturing factory situated in Brahmanbar village in Pingla and 33 people were killed in the incident. Chief minister Mamta Banerjee, had ordered a CID probe in the case.
