Atop a 200 foot mobile tower, an army man had refused to get down after being there for three days on Sunday. He had asked to talk to the defense minister after alleging that he was being harassed and wanted to talk to the minister.

K Muthu, the complainant belonged to the Engineers Regiment. He had managed to get to the top of a cellphone tower at the Ajmeri Gate on Friday afternoon at 1 pm and had not responded to the pleas of the police and officers in the Army who had pleaded him to come down.

The 35 year old repeatedly asked to talk to the defense minister and even after being persuaded by his fellow colleagues who all tried their chances, one after another, he remains undeterred.

Muthu originally belongs to Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. According to his allegations he had been transferred five times in five years.

He had thrown a bunch of papers from above on Friday. In one of the letters in the papers he had sought discharge from services after being harassed allegedly. He had also asked that his salary from the past eight months be cleared directing the letter to a commanding officer.
