All-Party Delegation Urges Center To Talk With All Stakeholders In Kashmir

The all-party delegation that went to Kashmir, recently, under the leadership of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, has urged the Center to initiate dialogue with all the stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir.

The all-party delegation had a meeting to discuss the way forward on Kashmir and agreed that solving the violent situation in Kashmir valley is possible through consensus. While denouncing the violence the delegation confirmed that there can be no compromise on the issue of national sovereignty.

Senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who was at the meeting, said, “The delegation has appealed to both the Centre and the J&K government to initiate dialogue with all stakeholders.”

The delegation further demanded to the center to ensure that all the government offices, educational institutions and commercial establishments in the state star functioning at the earliest.

While speaking to reporters Minister of State PMO Jitendra Singh said that the member also requested the government to take effective steps to provide medical treatment to citizens and security personnel injured in the ongoing agitation.

Clearing his stance over the much criticized move to talk to separatists, CPM leader Sitaram Yechury said, “We went to meet Hurriyat leaders because we want to tell the people of Kashmir that we reached out.”

The meeting was chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and reports said that he is expected to meet President Pranab Mukherjee in the evening to apprise him of the situation.

Earlier reports emerged that as the Separatist leaders boycotted the all-party meeting in Kashmir which held on Monday, the government is trying to curtail facilities to the Kashmiri separatists.
