After the death of 13-year-old boy in Sringar due to the use of tear gas shells and pellet guns by the security forces, the fresh protests erupted in Kashmir’s Srinagar.

The death of 13-year-old, Junaid Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Saidpora locality in Srinagar city has taken the death toll in the region to 91 since the protests started in Kashmir after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8. During the protests the security forces imposed curfew in various parts of the region and for the 13th consecutive Friday, on congressional prayers were allowed inside the historic Jama Masjid in old city’s Nowhatta. Security forces also tried to stop the separatists’ march to the office of United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP).
